Workshop on the Implementation of Innovative Resource-Saving Practices
On October 25, 2024, the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship hosted another session of its “Business Master Class” series. The guest speaker for the event was Alexey Volkov, the National Coordinator of the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) in Uzbekistan.
The event brought together participants from the school’s programs, offering a unique opportunity to explore best practices in implementing resource-saving technologies. Attendees had the chance to hear Alexey Volkov’s presentation titled "The Implementation of Innovative Resource-Saving Practices: Principles and Experiences from GEF SGP Projects".
In his presentation, Volkov emphasized the crucial role innovation plays in achieving sustainable development. He provided detailed insights into successful GEF SGP projects in Uzbekistan, highlighting initiatives focused on conserving water and energy, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and optimizing the use of natural resources.
Volkov also noted that programs like GEF SGP serve as key drivers of innovative approaches, particularly in sectors related to environmental management. He expressed that the continued development of these projects in Uzbekistan could pave the way for new opportunities for collaboration with the private sector, educational institutions, and local communities.
