Presentation of Startup Projects in the Healthcare Sector

On October 8, 2024, the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship with participation of the Tashkent Medical Academy held an event for the presentation of startup projects by young initiators in the healthcare sector as part of the “Startup Evaluation: HealthTech Series” project.

During the event, students and researchers from the Tashkent Medical Academy showcased their startup projects aimed at shaping the future of healthcare in the country. A total of 12 startup projects were presented focusing on modern treatment methods for various diseases, the creation of electronic platforms for accessing medical services, mobile applications for medication management, educational initiatives to enhance the training and preparation of healthcare professionals, as well as projects dedicated to environmental protection.

The startup initiators had the opportunity to receive mentorship, startup tips and business solutions from leading business consultants, professors and industry experts from organizations such as the National Office for Innovation Implementation and Technology Transfer, Tashkent State Economic University, ASTRUM IT Academy, Tashkent Medical Academy, HMKW University of Applied Sciences for Media, Communication and Management, also Graduate School of Business.

Throughout the discussions on the startup projects participants emphasized the importance of further integrating innovative technologies utilizing artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, software solutions and big data to advance the healthcare sector and ensure accessible and high-quality medical services in the country.

Martin Beckenkamp, a professor at the University of Applied Sciences for Media, Communication and Management (HMKW) in Cologne, Germany highlighted that startups in the fields of healthcare and medical technology have the potential to make a significant contribution to the development of Uzbekistan’s medical infrastructure. Hosting such events fosters entrepreneurial activity among students and young professionals, inspiring them to create new projects that can substantially improve the quality of medical services and enhance healthcare accessibility.

At the end of the event, the experts shared valuable business advice and their experiences in creating startup projects, expressing their willingness to collaborate with project initiators in providing ongoing support for the realization of their startups.
