INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION

February 18, 2020, as part of a joint project of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, UNESCO and the Islamic Development Bank “Strengthening the inclusive system of science, technology and innovation in Uzbekistan”, an international seminar for specialists in the field of development and integration of science and technology was held in Tashkent.

The seminar was attended by representatives of a number of line ministries and departments, government authorities, scientists, teachers of the capital universities, entrepreneurs, as well as specialists from international organizations.

It is worth mentioning that Salomat Yuldasheva, Deputy Director for Research, Innovation and International Development, took part in the event.

The aim of the project is creation of favorable conditions for development of innovation and research activities by combining the main actors of the innovation ecosystem, the use of scientific and technological activities in achieving the goals of sustainable development to solve urgent social and economic problems, as well as the formation of the national system of science, technology and innovation and introduction of modern mechanisms to improve policy.

The seminar was divided into three thematic sessions, which discussed the dynamics of the science, technology and innovation system and how to support their development in the context of sustainable development.

Experts noted the need to promote science and innovation widely and to adopt international best practices in this area.

Finally, participants exchanged views on the improvement of the science, technology and innovation system in our country.

After the seminar, an informal meeting was held between Salomat Yuldasheva and representatives of UNESCO, where the parties discussed issues of conducting joint research in the field of public administration.
