Agriculture as a Factor of Innovative Change in the Economy

On October 10, 2024, a seminar-training session was held at the Tashkent State Agrarian University for professors, researchers and students of the institution.

The event featured participation from representatives of the Youth Technopark of Tashkent Region, the Head of the Department for Innovative Development of the Territorial Administration of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of Tashkent Region, as well as representatives from the Graduate School of Business.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by S. Islamov, the first vice-rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University. He emphasized the importance of supporting youth and students in implementing innovative ideas and startup projects in the country. The event highlighted the university’s ongoing efforts in developing startup projects in the field of agrotechnology. Additionally, it showcased the university’s initiatives in training personnel focused on creating innovative developments and business projects, based on the experiences of leading countries such as Italy, Japan and China.

Usmanov, a representative from the Graduate School of Business, delivered presentation on the topic “The Role and Importance of Startups in an Innovative Economy.” He introduced participants to global trends in innovative changes, the significance of innovations and startups in creating a competitive national economy, and current innovative technologies, trends and challenges in the agro-industrial sector.

Moreover, G. Usmanov stressed the crucial role that higher educational institutions importance of higher educational institutions in forming and implementing breakthrough startup projects in agriculture. He explained the significance of university startup companies, such as “spin-offs,” “spin-outs” and “spin-ins.”

At the end of the event, professors and students engaged in a discussion with experts on creating startup projects and addressing challenges that arise during the initial stages of project implementation. They also exchanged views on developing cooperation in the innovation sphere.

This format of interaction with experts marked an important step in enhancing the practical knowledge and skills of students in mastering the startup movement in the agricultural sector, contributing to the development of new ideas and technologies for a sustainable future in agriculture.
