«POVERTY REDUCTION: WHAT LESSONS SHOULD BE LEARNT FROM BANGLADESH»

On May 13, 2020, at 3:00 p.m., an online interview will be held with the expert and poverty alleviation consultant Dr.Twyeafur Rahman on the topic «Poverty Reduction: What lessons should be learnt from Bangladesh».

Dr.Twyeafur Rahman’s area of expertise lies in poverty, income inequality, policy and impact evaluation, women empowerment, financial inclusion, and various areas of microfinance.

He worked for Association for Social Advancement which is one of the world-leading microfinance institution, as a Research Consultant (2015-2017) and then as a Senior Director (2017-2018) of Operation and Research.

Currently He is working for the New York City Department of Social Services (DSS) as a Senior Research Coordinator (Civil service title: Principal Research Scientist). DSS is majorly responsible for providing income and food support to low income, and disadvantaged people in order to reduce poverty.
